    I know there are Walking Dead custom maps, but I don't see why we have Rick and Michonne as operators yet cant get Walking Dead zombie maps released. I agree, zombies needs to have more fun. There should be the main line canon story maps and then other maps that are for the fun of it.

    A perk system where you upgrade perks in-game by doing challenges relevant to the perk? Hey, that sounds familiar! I do that in my mod, MWZ (it was called this years before MWIII existed, so excuse the overlap in names lol). To make progress on upgrading perks, you must own the perk you wish to upgrade, and complete a challenge relevant to it. You do not lose its upgrade progress/state when you lose the perk, as losing the perk is punishment enough (and with some of the changes I've made with my mod, being perkless is much more brutal than vanilla BO3 for most players). Try searching for Modern Warfare Zombies on BO3's Steam Workshop sometime and give it a go. I recommend playing on a simpler map first so you can get your bearings, since the mod overhauls a lot of the game. There's more to the perk system than I've mentioned here, and I think you'll like it. You definitely become very OP eventually, but you need to earn it first. Assuming you're acquiring and upgrading perks at a reasonable pace, you should roughly scale in power to the zombies as the waves progress. All of the perks are reworked to complement each other and suit the MW theme, so unlike most mods which use Treyarch's perks and throw in some custom ones, everything here is from the ground up made with various synergies in mind for a specialized kind of design approach and balance I've specifically intentioned. If I weren't doing an MW mod (which encourages overpoweredness) and trying to do a "perfect" Treyarch-style perk system, with some of the changes/improvements I've made for my mod, I'd definitely approach the balance differently (less perks for starters), but I think you'll appreciate some of the ideas I've got in there.

    Cw also had armour which broke the entire early round difficulty of building up till you get jugg. Personally I'm under the impression that perks where to give you a slight edge over the hoard and cw destroyed that and I though when they said upgraded perks I though it would be a challenge like bo1 mp pro perks where you get a little bit of bonus

    i feel like they should bring back perk limit, just up it a lil to 5 or 6 instead of 4 and give us ways of getting more by doing some sidequests. that way we earn our extra perks, they wonderfizz can give random perks again which is way better imo

    Allow ranking up in zombies to give you in game rewards. Like an extra perk slot for max prestige. Or extra starter ammo for prestiging to level 1. Things that feel rewarding for grinding the ranking system. Or a an extra frag during spawn, or a free monkey bomb at spawn, or the first magazine to shoot ray gun rays at spawn, fun things that don’t break the game but could be cool and useful while reaching max prestige.

    I think Dr. Monty’s factory should be the same in bo6 as it is in bo3 but once you’ve got a gobblegum once you can then directly purchase it as many times as you want

    The problem of "difficulty" in WW2 is very superficial. There is no Jug, go back and play BO3 and 2 without Jug. I actually quite enjoy WW2, but people's issues with it are legitimate. IW can be great, but it's pretty obvious that the game was built around BO3's engine... Which was balanced around a shield, and IW doesn't have a shield. Instant downs are quite frequent on that game, regardless of skill. Let alone the fact that Spaceland is leagues and bounds better than the rest of the content on offer. The variants are a disgusting grind also, by the way. Vanguard should never be defended. MW3 is worse sure. That doesn't excuse the garbage that is Vanguard.

    I agree with everything you said EXCEPT buying specific gobblegums only because I think the RNG on which gobble you get from spinning liquid divinium is super important because without that you could for example buy a bunch of perkaholics or shopping frees with the in game currency and then you would use them up without regard because you can always just buy more whereas with the current randomized system you have to put more thought into whether or not you want to use your perkaholic because you don’t know when the next time you’ll get one will be thus making them more valuable.

    Der Wunderfizz is a great concept, but completely broken in implementation. Couple changes could be a 3 perk limit per round, rotating locations like BO2/BO3, and a tax on prices to incentivize buying perks directly from their machines. One thing I love about Cold War is the escalating perk cost with the more you buy

  • @BBB_photography_adventures

    If perks are going to be upgraded it should be in game. But like Cold War you get either crystals but they are used for buying you’re gobble gums directly not randomised

    In the Black Ops 6 Direct, we have seen that the developers are implementing more hit zones (a total of 9) on the character models when being shot at. Since we all agree that the current points system for zombies needs a change, this could be a solution. What if, based on where we hit zombies, we earned different point values in BO6's zombies? The old system of earning points per hit on a zombie could be reiterated. With a total of nine new hit zones, we could earn points in different ways based on where we shoot at a zombie. The old Black Ops 3 point system, where we earned points per hit, was a much better iteration than the current system. It provided much more variety in how we approached earning points. If Black Ops 6 brings this old mechanic back with the new hit zone calculation, it would greatly benefit the game.

    Instead of the super easter egg reward being directors cut again, they could unlock a room in each map which has the cold war wunderfizz. Instead of perk upgrades I think the modifier system should return. Have it so the final perk you can buy get the modifier, this could mean some people choose not to get jug till the later rounds

  • @kindrecklamar9292
    @kindrecklamar9292 19 годин тому

    Saying that "perk system has never been perfected" is kinda irrelevant because it can never be perfected. It's such a subjective thing that a perfect system could never really be achieved for everyone. For me B03 was perfect. Cold War rewarded players for commitment to the mode, the ability to play games and upgrade, and then go back into your next game stronger was the point thats were the fun is. Limiting the amount of perks a player can have is limiting fun. Cold war allowed you to be the boss, but then as rounds got higher you still were challenged, plus with the field upgrades, you had endless ways to play. On top of that, YOU CAN LIMIT YOURSELF, its like if you didnt like having all the perks or feeling overpowered just dont play with all perks? Idk i found that a dumb complaint. 4 perk or 5 perk systems dont work, it limits the fun of the player, you have like 2 or 3 guaranteed must needed perks such as Jug, Speed and Stamina that leaves you with 1 or 2 perks to play with. Which is also why it was a decent system in BO2 because there werent that many perks on the maps until the wunderfizz dropped but why it wouldn't work now with the amount of perks we have. One thing I did agree with you about is that we definitely should have the ability to remove perks, such as mule kick, when you dont want to have 3 guns. BO3 had by far the best system the combo of limited perks but then having gobble gums to balance it was perfect, and again, you could choose whether or not to use perkaholic or to make it harder for yourself, you could feel like a king or a peasant by choice. I think the best system is a system that offer the most player choice, for those players who want to be OP you can, and if you want a harder challenge you can. Easter Egg rewards should always exist and is one of the things Cold War got really wrong but then again I think treyarch really wanted to make zombies more accessible.

    • @Xpertfusion
      @Xpertfusion 15 годин тому

      Of course it's subjective, never said otherwise. And yes, it will be hard to "perfect" it, but my point is that they have never reached even close to a perfect system. All of them has had some flaws, I just think there's a much better way they can do it compared to any other system we've had. My issue with the BO3 system is mostly centered around gobblegums tbh. Most of the maps didn't let you get beyond 4-5 perks without gobblegums (or doing the main quest). And with gobblegums being completely RNG, it wasn't something you could directly progress towards. And nowadays with the gobblegum exploit of closing app to save gums, we basically all have unlimited perkaholics that most people just use every game, essentially making the perk system itself irrelevant lol. Obviously it is optional to use perkaholic, but like I said, most people do it every game now anyways, and even I am motivated to do it just because I know getting more than 4-5 perks isn't a thing without gobblegums on most maps. With your point about CW, there's ways to have the player progress game-to-game without allowing them to make their perks fully OP forever with no way of using the worse versions. And also, I wouldn't say it's really rewarding "commitment", you can upgrade all perks within a short amount of time. Wasn't that hard of a grind in my opinion. And you saying you can just "limit yourself" by using less perks, isn't really a good option at all. Telling someone to use less game features/mechanics to have fun isn't a good solution at all. My complaint isn't that I'm OP, my complaint is that it's TOO easy to become OP, too fast, and too soon into a game. That's what makes being OP less special in CW. I'm not gonna just round-gate myself to get perks later or just use perks less often so I artificially make perks feel more special lmaoo. That doesn't work when I KNOW myself that I can get the perks easily whenever. It's also important to keep in mind that when I mention a perk limit, it's referring to a perk PURCHASE limit. I never said you should never be able to get more perks than 4 or 5. Every map should allow every perk to be earnable, just making it harder than just using points. I'm not sure how you say perk limits suck but then you say BO3's system was perfect. That game DID in fact have a perk limit. You were able to get beyond the limit with gobblegums and a few side quests on some of the maps, but is that not literally what I said in this video too? Player choice is always good, but it needs to have a balance to it. Perhaps a separate mode like custom mutations where it's a full sandbox and there's no limitations could be a compromise for players who want that. Always open to civil disagreements though so I appreciate the reply, apologies for the long response lol.

    • @kindrecklamar9292
      @kindrecklamar9292 14 годин тому

      @Xpertfusion W reply. Ik ik, you were being subjective. I just wanted to point out that even if treyarch made the best zombies perk system ever, we'd still not be able to call it perfect. Just to clarify, the reason I said BO3 was perfect, but perk limits suck, is because, the fact the perk limit existed was balanced with the use of Gobblegums. So you could use different Gobblegums to play in way you wanted and give you more power without the need for the extra perks, plus there were multiple ways you could use gobblegums to get bonus perks, like perkaholic and sodafountain. I do agree that CW should've made it harder to upgrade, maybe include challenges to upgrade perks, but I definitely love the idea of being able to increase the power/effect of perks. Plus, don't forget CW had you upgrading 4 different categories of items, so you kinda had to choose what you wanted to prioritize for your next game. I definitely think for the casual gamers the grind was more lengthy, ofc hardcore zombies players would drop a quick 50 round and exfil with a bunch of crystals, but more casual players wouldn't really be making that. I misunderstood you, I thought you were saying you didn't like being OP, which was strange to me because being OP is where the fun for me comes from, although once you reach higher rounds like 50+ the level of how OP you are slowly starts decreasing and your skill as a player comes into play. Which is why I said you can just not use them. I love the idea of a separate mode to do whatever, I think it would be cool if we had like a Classic mode were players play with a more old school system with the fixes you mentioned and then a regular were we could go crazy. Anyways thanks for the reply, you did have some good points in the video keep it up 👍.

    They should make the gobblegum like the did the weapon variant system in infinite warfare (not the spinning the supply boxes) I mean each game you win like, “salvage” and then you can buy gobblegums with it. Make the salvage hard to get, and make the crutch gubblegims expensive. But don’t allow REAL money to buy gobblegum cause it ruins the game and the challenge

  • @curley22
    @curley22 22 години тому

    I would love the Cold War system but with these tweaks A. No perk upgrades, just give us decent balance from the start of progression. B. Either make the wonderful random again or make it only contain perks without a machine present in the map so you have to actually use the machines C. Finally I would reek the cost scaling from Cold War I would say your first perk is 2000 and goes up 1000 for the first four but after that each additional perk gets exponentially expensive so there more of a soft limit but still no hard limit

  • @TrashComment

    I don't really mind easy access to jugg and wonderfizz, because i rather noobs re-buy their perks then rage-quit. As someone who did all world at war,blk op 1, and some of blk op 2 easter eggs i am glad Cold war hand holds you through the easter eggs, i know some of you are going to say I like doing then without a marker pointing how to do it. Without those marks, most of you all just got to UA-cam and Reddit and learn how to do it so why not save time and have it pointed out or at least have an option to have it pointed out.

    • @Xpertfusion
      @Xpertfusion 15 годин тому

      Tbh, most people still used UA-cam guides for Cold War's EEs anyways... but my issue with them isn't even how easy they are to solve, it's how easy and simple they are to do on multiple playthroughs. There's like zero depth behind them. No thinking required. Which makes the actual learning curve of the maps main quest, very small. I feel like I mastered each quest within my first time doing it.

  • @danothenailer
    @danothenailer 23 години тому

    For the perk limits, you could have the option to buy a perk slot during games with points, going off 4 limit with 8 total perks, you could buy the 5th for 20k points, 6th for 25k, 7th for 30k and 8th for 35k, so they can be obtained each game, but it will take some time to do so.

    • @Xpertfusion
      @Xpertfusion 15 годин тому

      My only issue with that is I don't like most of the games' in-game progression being locked behind just points (or salvage). I like having actual physical things to do on the map to progress, that I can do at any round. But especially with the new point system, it would just turn into training zombies round-by-round and just waiting till you get enough points.

    • @Xpertfusion
      @Xpertfusion 15 годин тому

      I'm actually not crazy about it because I would normally get Jug right away just from grinding out points in no man's land before heading through the teleporter lol. I hate low less rewarding and more broadened the point system is now. The best part about the old point system is how diverse and rewarding it was for the player for understanding the system, you know shooting a zombie 3 times in the head with a 1911 on Round 3 to 4 for a one hit knife, stuff like that is what makes seeing the funny number go up so satisfying and the knowledge always gives you the upper hand on those early rounds in pub lobbies.

      I honestly will never get when people call zombies a "chore" when it comes to simple map setup. Part of the fun is progressing through the rounds and actually doing things on the map. Regardless, I feel like most of my ideas here are quite simple things. Most of which is optional anyways. Maybe they could have a separate "arcade/sandbox" mode that just likes you get everything right away and have at it (kind of like BO4 custom mutations).

I have zero belief that this next game is going to be any good, especially with the pushing of political agendas in the most recent COD games. But, such is life anymore in the entertainment sphere. Very few folks are making good games. Instead, folks are making sub-par cash-cows or leftists statements.

    This isn't the perfect perk system. It's YOUR perk system. People have different play styles and find different perks to be stronger and more important than others. This system is clearly based around how you play the game and doesn't take into consideration how other players who don't like doing easter eggs or side quests for 1 extra perk would be hindered by these changes and a big part of the newer, more casual, playerbase would be put to play a more difficult game cause they just want to hop in a game just survive without needing to do hidden steps for a more enjoyable time

    • @Xpertfusion

      I think it's very much implied (and obvious) that this video is entirely my opinion. So yes, of course it's my idea of the perfect perk system. But... that's not to say I didn't take into account other players... because I do. A lot of my ideas ARE compromises. I would be totally fine with a complicated quest to getting upgraded perks, but I understand most players wouldn't like that, hence why I offered the idea of just doing simple in-game challenges to upgrade them. I also never said any of this perk system would be locked behind hard to complete Easter Eggs. A side quest could be something simple, that is directly told to the player how to do it. I'd be fine with that for the extra perks. Players also shouldn't need all perks in order to survive. There has never been a single map where you need all perks to survive. The concept that even the most casual player of all time should be able to get everything on the map easily within their first few times playing is exactly what makes recent zombies not as interesting for a lot of players. It's OKAY to have some stuff harder to get, or else what's even the point of becoming a hardcore player??

    I would say i mostly agree with the changes to the system you brought up. The only things i disagree with is just upgrading perks at all. I feel if you did the mentioned challenges to upgrade your perks would feel like a chore to do when you may already have other secrets to do for extra equipment or wonder weapons ect. I wouldn't want to be searching 20 different Mr. Roflwaffle videos for 1 map. And the other thing is the pay for gobblegum. This one is just more of a personal thing but i just love the feeling of when you spin and get your desired perkaholic or shopping free or whatever. And i think saving currency to buy a specific gobblegum would be tedious. But everything else I 100% agree with.

      Is it a chore if it's something that organically happens anyways?? (you will definitely get headshots while having deadshot equipped, for example) I also don't fully get the idea of "chores" in zombies. Like it's a video game, I feel like players should want to have more things to do in the game lol. Obviously it would be different if it was some difficult, tedious challenge, but my idea is something pretty simple I would say. It also isn't really required, like most things in zombies. You could still survive just fine without the upgrades. I don't think you would need a guide to simply complete a challenge with your perk. I appreciate the comment though! Always open to civil disagreements.

    20:26 There are no such thing as "Crutch Perks" in Classic Zombies. If you had to work your way to get to Juggernog, which was usually the hardest one to get in most maps, that's not a crutch, you're *_supposed_* to get that. If a perk is necessary for progression as it directly upgrades your core ability of shooting, taking hits and reloading, opting not to get that is a handicap. The "Crutch Perk" exists exclusively in multiplayer with infamously poor perk balancing back in the day, and is where the term comes from.

    • @defaultdan7923
      @defaultdan7923 День тому

      i kinda disagree. what is your definition of crutch perk? i believe many would define it as a perk that is essentially a necessity, or a perk that you are basically handicapping yourself by not buying, which includes jugg most prominently but also things like double tap, speed cola, and quick revive in solo

    • @Nazrat84
      @Nazrat84 День тому

      @@defaultdan7923 If it's necessary, it's not a crutch, that's by design, thus why the perks are placed according to their strength (if the spawns aren't random, of course, that's a whole other topic though). Crutch perks as a term come from the PvP MP mode. In multiplayer there were perks that weren't designed to be necessary, but ended up becoming that way as they didn't have the means to change perk slots, nor ever worked fast enough to balance perks post-launch outside of extreme cases. This ultimate negatively effect match variety as people would default to certain perks. In Zombies, this does not happen because you are always supposed to grab the main four as your priority, the other perks end up being accessory but were never as strong as the main four.

      @@Nazrat84 a crutch by definition is something that is near mandatory to play the game, if not using it makes it much more difficult, thats a crutch, what your describing is a game play feature that you have no choice in using, if we just spawned with Jug level health and the perk didn't exsit, well then yea, that means the game is designed around having that much health and having that much health isn't a crutch, its just how the game is desgined, but Jug is optional, you could decide not to buy it but doing so makes the game MUCH harder, that is by definition a crutch, just like how someone who needs crutches to walk could technically learn to walk without them, but they would have a hard time doing so also wtf are you talking about with perk locations? Jug is like never in a hard spot on most maps, like maybe 2 examples I can think of would be Der Riese and Kino maybe, but on most maps its easy, lets take one at random, Gorod Krovi, Jug is literally a couple inches next to a door you'd be using anyways

      @Nazrat84 День тому

      @@flamingscar5263 If it's a necessary upgrade, which Juggernog, Quick Revive (in solo) and Speed Cola is, then it's not a crutch. You're merely supposed to grab them as their placement in the map is indicative of the necessity to do so. The truly optional non-upgrade perks are usually out of the way or in inconspicuous locations because they are not necessary. Crutch only applies to MP as you have more immediate choices to make with your loadouts, but the choices are arbitrary as the older games didn't have any balancing passes in place to accommodate the disconnect between the player's power set and the mechanics in the games themselves. In Zombies, you can opt not to get Juggernog because "I want to make this match more challenging on purpose" but you are, ultimately, steered in the direction to get it regardless in the map's progression itself. That's very deliberate. In MP of BO2, this didn't apply. You had many more options in your perk choices, many of them being very strong, but due to the Pick 10 system and the perk balancing, the game can be nigh-unplayable without Toughness. This wasn't supposed to happen, it ultimately happened due to the lack of balance passes and the player's dominant strategy kicking in.

    I agree with having a perk limit and having a challenge to get more perk slots, as its a nice middleground between the classic cods and CW's "no perk slots" system. However, idk if I agree with getting rid of CW's meta-progression with perk upgrades. There's something satisfying about slowly upgrading your perks as you play and getting better perks as time goes on. I think a nice compromise would be maybe bringing back the perma perk system from BO2, and having that be the upgrades for your perks. That way you can have some of that power progression between games, but you're still required todo something in a given game to unlock it; if you really wanna mimick bo2, you could even make it so that certain mechanics could make you lose the perma perk so that you don't have the upgrade permantly. speaking of perma perks, they're also a great alternative to dealing with the perk limit/crutch perk issue, as you could use a perma perk to bypass the traditional 4 perk slots. Having the phd perma perk from buried is a great example of this

    • @Xpertfusion
      @Xpertfusion 15 годин тому

      I get the feeling of slowly upgrading your player overtime being satisfying, but in my opinion, they already have that with other things in the game and I don't think it should apply to almost everything (we already have weapon attachments, gobblegums will be in BO6, etc.) I feel like when playing a game that resets its difficulty every time you play, your player should also reset their power (in most cases, not everything of course). I also hated how they were completely permanent, like there was no way to use the weaker versions of the perks after upgrading them. And at least for me, I was able to fully upgrade all perks after like a week of playing the game (until they added more tiers of course). Not much of a "slow" grind in my opinion. I think the best way they could do it is honestly just having a gobblegum that immediately gives you an upgraded version of a perk. So the "slowly upgrading" aspect applies to grinding free-to-earn gobblegums, and then using them (limited-uses) whenever you want the perk upgrade right away as opposed to trying to earn it in-game.
